Success Stories

I’m coming up to my one year mark with Lion and Luxe and I couldn’t be happier!

I signed up to have guidance and the proper knowledge to train for bodybuilding competitions in the safest, healthiest way. I do indeed get all that and more.

Brent Bareham has been absolutely amazing through every step along the way. I have also experienced the best massages I have ever had from their in house massage therapist Andrea!

I would absolutely recommend Lion and Luxe for any level of improving your fitness journey.

Scientists have theorized that Shiatsu massages can improve a persons health due to the calming effect it has on the sympathetic nervous system. --
Our nervous system has feelings? --
Well, no.. but kind of. --
I know that sounds a bit confusing but stick with me for a second… --

        • You finally pushed through your week and you’ve made it! Happy flex Friday!
Don’t forget to finish out your week strong and healthy and go into next week rejuvenated and ready to tackle your next goal.
Huge shoutout to one of our favorite clients, MJ! She is such an inspiration to strong women everywhere!
        • A hot commodity in the '50s and '60s, the vibrating belt was used to shake your waist, legs, arms, and butt into shape. The machine was marketed as a way to vibrate fat and make it easier for your body to "flush away". As an ad in 1958 put it:
"It is this speeded up motion of your tissues... 3200 times a minute...that aids in fast, effective, spot reduction... that actually helps trim down the size of your measurements wherever it embarrasses you most!" The increasing popularity was not surprising - you could reduce fat and lose weight without actually doing anything!
The fact that this sounds too good to be true should have been a huge red flag for many.... Scientists eventually discovered (unsurprisingly) that you can't vibrate fat off of your body, which subsequently lead to this fad's quick disappearance.
        • -- Every journey in life is a personal experience - especially when it comes to fitness. -------- Try to not compare yourself to others going along similar paths. Their journey may be similar but the road will always be slightly different. -------- Your biggest competitor is going to be you, your self doubt and your procrastination. --------- Your goal should be to progress further than you were yesterday - whether it's eating better, lifting heavier, or going longer.

“Mediocrity will never do. You are capable of something better.”

Go forth in your life with this knowledge and never accept mediocrity in any part of your life - especially your health and wellness.
        • - Throwback - The Sleeping Beauty Diet
- - -
The Sleeping Beauty diet is an extreme dieting practice that pairs sedation with starvation. The diet was first referenced in 1966, in Jacqueline Susann's best-selling novel, Valley of the Dolls. - - -
The premise is simple: The more you sleep, the less you eat. The diet recommends sleeping for unnaturally long stretches at a time, sometimes with the aid of sedatives, as a way to avoid the temptation of food. - - -
Let's be real and call it what it is - Anorexia. Sleeping to avoid eating is still starving yourself and can cause horrible side effects like dizziness, heart palpitations and brain damage. - - -
My opinion? We should let exercise and a healthy diet be our prince charming. Leave the past where it rests. 😴
